MAINTENANCE & REPAIR SERVICES
Equipment Maintenance
The age and condition of your equipment, your location and usage, and the size and type of equipment you have dictate the type of tasks required to manage maintenance. For example, if you have a water-cooled system, you have a chiller and a cooling tower that requires maintenance. Likewise, if you have a combined heat pump or VRF system that provides both cooling and heating, you have different components that require inspection by an expert. Also, maintenance tasks depend on the season.
Equipment Repairs
Sometimes, it’s difficult to know whether you should repair or replace your heating and cooling system. The average lifespan of industrial equipment is 25 years. If your equipment is within those ranges, expect more repairs in the near future. At Mechanical Cooling & Heating LLC, we maintain and repair chillers, cooling towers, condensing units, gas-fired units, and more.
Seasonal Start-Up
If it's time to have your heating or cooling system running again, our certified technicians can help. We have the knowledge and experience to service all heating and cooling systems. Preparation of equipment for its optimal operation during the cooling season (spring/summer) and again in the heating season (fall/winter) is essential for a functional HVAC.
Seasonal Shut-Down
As the seasons change, you will need to shut down your heating or cooling system. Mechanical Cooling & Heating LLC can perform tube and air filter cleaning, check controls and safeties, take amperage readings on motors and more to ensure your unit is in tip-top shape after a season of hard work.
Cooling Tower Maintenance
Cooling towers are the heart of a building’s mechanical system. Without routine maintenance, they’re destined to experience problems that can lead to a complete shutdown of the entire building. Not "cool!" With regular proper cooling tower maintenance, both you and the system will be extremely happy. We conduct motor and fan inspection, and we check for corrosion in the sump and baffles, as well as inspect for obstructions in the drain and overflow. We ensure the cooling tower is in compliance with the New York State commercial pesticide applicator certification in Category 7G.
Cooling Tower Repairs
At Mechanical Cooling & Heating LLC, we believe in preventing problems before they start. But sometimes problems arise anyway! It’s life! Unfortunately, no matter how well you maintain your HVAC system, cooling tower replacements or upgrades are inevitable investments. We provide a thorough examination of your towers and will only replace the units if necessary, or per your request. If you need new towers - Mechanical Cooling & Heating LLC takes care of everything - from demolition to removal.
Cooling Tower Refurbishing
Replacing a cooling tower can a costly proposition. If the integrity of the tower’s metal sump, sidewalls, and distribution pans are safe and sound, but the fiberglass fill has deteriorated to the point where it needs to be replaced, there are many dollars that can be saved versus the cost of replacement. Mechanical Cooling & Heating LLC can remove the fill from each tower cell, angle grind and metal patch all metal surfaces, seal the seams, and re-coat internal, wetted surfaces with a two part epoxy coating.
Chiller Retubing
Mechanical Cooling & Heating LLC also specializes in retubing chillers for all types of equipment from all manufacturers. When tubes wear out (for a number of reasons), our retubing service experts can step in to perform heat exchanger tube replacement. Our technicians will remove old, damaged, or worn out copper tubing, install and test new tubes, and haul away old materials. In many cases, only the damaged or worn-out tubes can be isolated and replaced through this process, leaving the good tubes behind. Partially retubing the unit reduces your cost and saves you thousands of dollars.
Plate and Frame Heat Exchanger
Plate and frame heat exchangers provide efficient heat transfer in compact equipment with a small footprint. The units have a flexible design and are easy to service and maintain. Plate and frame heat exchangers can be used in a wide range of applications and industries and are available in an extensive range of sizes, alloys, and frame configurations to meet your exact needs.
Epoxy Coating
Leaks are caused by corrosion related to mineral depositing on end sheets. Epoxy Coating protects and prolongs the life of the equipment.
Eddy Current Testing
Mechanical Cooling & Heating LLC is skilled in Eddy Current Testing, which involves checking the condition of tubes in the condenser, absorber, and evaporator sections of a chiller, such as corrosion and leaks. An electronic probe is inserted in each tube at the end of a tube bundle and pushed through the entire length of the tube. The results transmitted back from the probe can reveal abnormal tube wear or tube defects. We can detect potential failures and allow time for repairs to be made. It's recommended that this testing is performed every 3-5 years.
Emergency Temporary Cooling & Heating
It's summertime and 95 degrees outside, and the same temperature (or hotter) on the inside of your building because your HVAC system has broken down! No worries! When your equipment fails, we have an emergency service to provide temporary cooling and heating to your building until we can find out the root of the problem and care for it.
Burner Set-Up
Mechanical Cooling & Heating LLC can provision and adjust your furnace's gas burners. Adjusting the height of flames on the main burners should be done by expert technicians. It's recommended that the furnace is inspected at least every three years.
